On September 12, a rare sunny day in Amsterdam, on board of a historical boat, cruising the picturesque canals of the Dutch capital, AdBirds hosted an overview session within an original Global Immersion event for Digital Marketing leaders from South Africa, who came accompanied by Popimedia, Facebook’s largest marketing partner in Africa, and En-novate.
The group included executives from Popimedia and Heads of Digital from some of South Africa’s largest pharmaceutical, retail companies and financial institutes. During the one-week trip, the group focused on the future of the digital advertising sector, and met with innovative Dutch companies, that are taking on digital in a new and different way.
As Dan Brotman, En-novate director, told us, one of the highlights of the visit was a boat ride on the canal with AdBirds, where the group heard about how AdBirds came to be and its interest in entering the African market. Dan also confirmed that several of the participants plan on having AdBirds conduct an audit to look at how to better optimise their digital spend internationally. They hope that this will be the beginning of a fruitful relationship between AdBirds and South African multinational corporates.
